Shanti Stupa Leh is a Himalayan peace lighthouse.

One of those locations that immediately slows you down, inhales a little deeper, and lets you just feel is Shanti Stupa, perched high above the little Ladakh town. More than just a lovely white-domed building, it's a spiritual experience that lingers long after you've left and a tranquil haven with expansive views of the Himalayas.

A peaceful mission With a strong message.

Together with Ladakhi Buddhists, Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu Gyomyo Nakamura built Shanti Stupa in 1991. The aim is To honor the close relationship between India and Japan and advance peace. The Dalai Lama personally blessed the stumas and placed Buddha relics at their base.
